Our Brightening Masque features Tranexamic acid. Tranexamic acid is a powerful ingredient recognized for its ability to brighten skin complexion and improve discoloration, especially in the setting of persistent browns from acne and the treatment of melasma.
Everyday elements—including UV exposure, prescription drugs, and hormone exposure (especially estrogen)—can trigger the skin discoloration process by activating inflammatory mediators within the skin. This results in a chain reaction that causes the skin to over-produce melanin, the naturally-occurring pigment that gives skin its color. Tranexamic acid blocks this process, diminishing the appearance of sun damage, discoloration from acne, and suppressing melasma.
Tranexamic Acid masques are incredibly soothing and calming to the skin. Applying this masque after a laser or microneedling treatment will immediately cool the skin, leading to less discomfort in the immediate post-procedure hours. A Tranexamic Acid masque can remain on the skin for 20-30 minutes, and you can apply these masques every day for a week after your procedure to achieve maximal results.
